As an urban citizen I wanted a form of mobility that suited my daily need of transportation without the hassle of parking, refueling and needing to carry a 2 ton vehicle to just do an errand less than 1 mile away. In California, we love our cars but people are realizing that in order to be more green they need to look for less carbon footprint prone solutions. Enter... EV electric scooters.
After evaluating many mobility options, bicycles, share rides, and public transportation, I came to the conclusion that most of my needs for mobility were within a 3 mile radius. For towns greater than 1,000 housing units the highest average distance between home to store is 1.89 miles. According to the USDA report in 2016 shoppers' nearest grocery store is an average of about 2 miles away from home. But the average distance they travel to buy groceries is nearly 4 miles.
Once you have a different type of mobility you start thinking more local.
This website came out of the curiosity that I initially had. That curiosity has rippled to everyone that I know and even people of all ages who stop me to ask about my scooter. In a nutshell, people are curious, they wonder it if it's rented or if I own it, but most importantly they want to know how to get one.
So, I decided to share my research and fun experiences I've had since becoming an EV owner. Now when I encounter people on the metro station, streets or at a store I refer them to this website!
